Charles Tripp
Charles H. Tripp is a founding law partner of Legal Advocates for Indian Country, LLP in Owasso, Oklahoma, specializing in Indian and Tribal law. Mr. Tripp’s thirty plus year practice includes, tribal government and departmental representation, Indian Child Welfare cases, gaming, housing and business enterprises. Mr. Tripp also does training for tribes in a variety of areas.
Mr. Tripp is the Chief Judge for the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma, Pawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, and the Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma. He is also a Judge Pro Tem for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. Mr. Tripp is Chief Justice for the Kaw Nation of Oklahoma and a Justice for the Ute Tribe of Indians and the Court of Indian Appeals of the Miami Agency. Mr. Tripp is also an adjunct professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he teaches Tribal Government, Gaming and NALSA Moot Court competition teams.
Judge Tripp earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate all from the University of Tulsa. He is admitted to practice in the State of Oklahoma and many tribal courts. He is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National American Indian Court Judges Association. Mr. Tripp is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
